This year our group has fifteen people (Glenn, Arlan, Jared, Tim, Shannon, Tom, Morgan, Tony, Little Tony, Matthew, Dave, Scott, Harlan, Jeremy and Wyatt) with guest Scott Weiberg.

Opening day (Saturday, Nov 9th) Shannon shot a small anterless deer, Matthew shot another doe and Morgan shot a big (132 lb.) doe. Later, Morgan (100 lb. and 80 lb.) shot 2 more anterless deer in the afternoon. By the end of opening day we had 5 anterless deer hanging.

On Sunday the 10th, we went to eat dinner at the Nazareth church and visited with neighbors and fellow hunters. Dave shot a doe (120 lb.) and a buck (175 lb. - 8 point) this afternoon. We had 7 deer hanging by the end of the weekend. Nelson's and Mattson's hunting party came to visit tonight.

Monday the 11th, We had most of our hunting crew, but it was a bitter cold day (0 degrees with some wind). We did not go out for morning post and we stayed inside a lot. Hofstads attended a Veterans Day event at Plummer School. Tim shot a forkhorn buck from his yard this morning before he was even dressed this morning. Matthew shot another doe this afternoon. So this year we had 9 deer and hanging up so far on Monday.

Tuesday the 12th. Let's see - we had a screw off day as far as hunting. Still 9 deer so far hanging.
Wednesday the 13th. It was cold again this morning. Dave shot a 6 point buck (118 lb.) and used Bob's tag for this one. Now we have 10 deer hanging. The hanging deer are pretty much froze, so we are planning to take them to Hilgeman's shop when we are ready to process our meat o Saturday.

Thursday the 14th. We walked through our Reindal popple grove and "no man's land" woods - found no deer. We had drove around a lot and no one saw deer. It was sorta weird to not find deer around.

Friday the 15th. It was warmer today, woke up to 15 degrees. We did not hunt to much today, moved deer Hilgeman shop to process. The deer are tucked in the woods and some may have moved to the willows and grass for cover. The wind has been blowing for a few days now as well. Below is a picture of what we have hanging in the quonset this week. Jared shot a doe (93 lb.) and Arlan shot a doe (101 lb.) later this afternoon.

Saturday the 16th, we cut up 10 deer. We started about 10am and were done about 4pm again as usual. Bob and Norma showed up and Bob helped us packaging. I made the traditional venison tenderloins. No deer were shot today either. Scott and Tim spent most all of deer hunting doing farming rather than hunting this year as we had a very unusual end to the grain farming season this year. It was cold and wet.

Sunday the 17th, we cut up the other 2 deer this morning. Bob came back and helped and picked up his meat. We visited and had dinner together. Later in the afternoon a few people looked for deer again as the hunting season was coming to an end. Shannon saw 3 deer standing by Tim's place and had to take a shot. He ended up with 2 nice anterless deer. So we ended up with 12 deer for the group and 2 more for whoever helped or wanted to buy some processed venison. Shannon cut these up next Saturday.
