This year our group has twelve people (Glenn, Jared, Arlan, Tim, Shannon, Tom (and Morgan), Shawn, Tony, Little Tony, Matt, Bob and Scott). Opening day (Saturday the 6th) we shot 3 deer, then Sunday the 7th we shot 3 deer. So for the first weekend we had 6 deer hanging.
Monday the 8th no deer were shot - even after the long, long walk around the Hofstad tree lines. Tuesday the 9th we shot no deer. Wednesday the 10th we shot no deer. Thursday we no deer and we shot no deer on Friday the 12th.
On Saturday we decided to cut up the meat we had hanging. It was a good day, we started about 10am and were done and out huntin again by mid afternoon. Little Tony shot a doe Saturday after cuuting up the meat. Jared shot a buck on Sunday the 14th.
A total of 8 deer for the season with 2 adult bucks (which were 150 pounds or better each, gutted), 4 adult does and 2 fawns. There's gonna be some more good eating this winter. The Hofstads are gonna can a bunch of their venison, it's good and easy to prepare a quick meal with.
